Sorrelclan
Overview
Sorrelclan was formed when a few house cats near Marin City wandered too far from their homes and into Golden Gate National Recreation Area, and found that they were lost. A young molly named Sorrel crossed the park all the way to the ocean where she found a lake. There, she spoke to her ancestors and received her nine lives and a quest to round up the former house cats and create a clan to last through the ages.
Sorrelclan is matriarchal and loosely based off clowders, with only females holding the three high ranks of leader, deputy, and medicine cat, while both males and females hunt and fight for the clan. While deformed, disabled, blind, and deaf cats occasionally come into the clan or are born into the clan, they are integrated into clan life as much as possible. Most blind and deaf cats are able to hunt and fight, although normally require a guardian to ensure their safety. Deformed and disabled cats are also pushed to hunt and fight although if they are physically incapable, will be allowed to stay back in the camp to guard it, deliver messages, and care for the queens, kits, and elders.
Territory
Sorrelclan territory is located in a Californian national recreation area and is primarily forest, although it isn't very dense due to the hills in the area. The cats must take great care to avoid being seen by the humans, as many pass through the territory on a daily basis, but plenty of prey exists despite this and is made easier to catch as they have been acclimated to humans. The lake near Tennessee Valley Beach is the Moonpool, and the territory is ringed by human trails although some cats will wander outside the territory to recruit more cats, catch prey, or chase off predators.
The camp is located inside the forest on the west side of the hill closest to the bay, and is made distinctive by the wildflowers growing around it. Cats are expected to sleep outside, as the weather is extremely mild year-round, although queens, elders, and the medicine cats are provided with special dens dug out beneath three trees. Each den can hold up to five adult cats while the queens' den can hold up to ten kittens, provided that no more than three queens are inside.
Borders
To the north is Gorseclan, currently led by Palestar. At this border, the forest transitions to field which transitions to moor, with the heart of Goseclan territory being dominated by grasses and bushes.
To the east is Cloudclan, currently led by Eaglestar. At this border, a road crosses the forest before slowly transitioning into tall mountains that snow year-round.
To the south is Sageclan, currently led by Hailstar. At this border, the forest begins to transition to field, with the heart of Sageclan territory being dominated by wildflowers and grasses.
To the west are the human beaches and the great ocean.
